21st to 24th May, Streete, Westmeath

In this centenary year help us to make the Irish lakes and hills resound to the bark of fine AJS and Matchless machines or think yourselves accursed you were not here!

Marvel at the superb camping facilities or luxuriate in one of the numerous guest houses.

Revel in the craic with old and new friends and help them to tinker with broken bits.

Ride your old friend by the lakes and in the tranquil countryside. (There will be excellent motorcycle runs too!)

Reel to the fine music, dancing and singing of traditional Irish entertainment whilst enjoying your food and a drop of the black stuff in the best company you could choose.

Savour the ownership of your free, waterproof rally badge and thrill at the prospect of a prize in the FREE RAFFLE.

Be astounded by the seven wonders of the fabulous Valley of Fore , the Jealous Wall and the World renowned prehistoric tombs of Loughcrew.

Be reassured by the free zimmer repair service and other mechanical support.

In the unlikely event of anyone requiring even more entertainment or thrills please let us know and we will consider letting Sydney do it.

DO NOT FORGET

Book your holiday or tell the Post Office to hold on to your pension. Ireland has many attractions and this is a central point for touring.

Book your ferry or flight as no AMC machine floats well. (See below)

Make sure that you have a passport or, at least a document with your photograph. Check requirements when booking. These are not required by the Irish Government but they will be required for security checks by your ferry or airline prior to travel.

We hope that the rally will attract many campers/caravanners but there are still many places left in local accommodation. A list is available on request from us. None will be within walking distance but we may arrange evening transport.

There will be daily runs to places of interest, with a longer scenic tour on Sunday. There will also be awards for machinery, a furthest travelled and a “spirit of the rally” award for those whose trailer wheels fall off. The furthest travelled award will be for AJS/Matchless road miles and there will be a Globe Trotter Award for greatest distance travelled by any means.

Rally Travel Discounts: There is a 10% discount on Irish Ferry fares for rally travellers. Rally Weather: Rainfall varies in Ireland - it can be sideways or vertical. It rains much more on the West Coast than in the Midlands at Streete. Here you can expect similar rainfall to areas of the UK mainland (probably less than Cornwall!) For the past three years late May has been very dry and warm here… so you may be surprised!

If it rains the Streete facilities have been chosen with shelter and drying in mind for all riders, camping or otherwise.

All the best Bob and Sydney Boaden
