Heart of England

Probably the AJS and Matchless Owners Club’s friendliest section!

A big hearty welcome to you from Heart of England country. The AJS and Matchless owners club is a great organisation to belong to and we think we are the best section in it!

---Heart of England RULES!---

In August Heart of England hosted the annual Jampot rally in Kimbolton. It was a glorious weekend and everyone in the section worked hard to make it as enjoyable as possible for the club. Five hundred members attended and were treated to a rally without equal.

The reception tent was set up on the Thursday and soon attracted punters. Not all were members but without exception they all appreciated our older machines. A certain lady was caught in the act of attempting to nip out for a spin on the local motorcycle officer’s bike. Bad girl Mrs. Smith, ooh you are naughty (but we do like you!)

Although Heart of England did not enter for the Tug-of-War they were clear victors in the gurning competition, scaring off all competition. In fact they scared me too!

There was a lot of hard work done by the section and it wore some of our stalwarts out. Any suggestion that they were just sleeping off one beer session in preparation for the next is simply scurrilous and I would not countenance such accusations about innocent and clean living chaps like us.

We added a few new members

And the usual suspects partied like there was no tomorrow! Alan and Judy Jennings strutted their stuff on the dance floor with the energy and enthusiasm of sixteen year olds. They left us all gasping. A certain national club committee member was clearly also a bit of a rocker too. Great stuff!

Good beer, good friends, an excellent entertainment each night. The evenings passed all too quickly.

Then there was the aroma of cooked breakfast wafting across the site every morning. Although there was excellent food available from the on-site restaurant many chose to do their own cooking on camp stoves. There is nothing like the taste of freshly cooked food al-fresco. Mmmmm………

All this and a bevy of gorgeous girls too. A man could die here and go to heaven happy!

Everyone couldn’t stop smiling all weekend, especially Mr. P. Such a nice man!

See you all next year.

 Rallies!  Rallies!  Rallies!

You want rallies? We have local, national and international rallies. We've even been to the Isle of Wight three times!

Every year the club holds a national rally in a different part of the UK. For 2007 it was Suffolk. That was an excellent rally.

We are a very open and friendly group. If you fancy joining us why not pop along to one of our Thursday nights (2nd and 4th of the month) at The White Horse. I remember how nerve-wracking it was when I first came along and met the group of then strangers that made up Heart of England and who I now consider good friends. If you e-mail heartofengland@jampot.com  to tell us you are coming, we will look out for you and make sure you are made welcome.  Give us a try!
